Govt considers relaxing state FRBM limit for UDAY: Srcs

In a recent development to the Centre's UDAY (Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana) Scheme, the government has floated a cabinet note granting margin to state governments for relaxing the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) limit.CNBC-TV18 learns that individual state governments may be allowed to exceed their fiscal deficit target on a case-by-case basis to implement the scheme meant to revive the ailing discoms.The Finance Secretary had earlier allowed certain state governments to breach the fiscal deficit target to get the ailing power distribution companies back on track.Watch video for more..
