Future Group forays into furniture business with FabFurnish buy

Eyeing an opportunity to expand its home décor and furnishing segment, Kishore Biyani's Future Group has acquired FabFurnish.com for an undisclosed sum. The four-year old Gurgaon-based company is backed by a German startup incubator—Rocket Internet.FabFurnish competes with well-funded startups such as Urban Ladder, Pepperfry and Livspace besides horizontal e-tailers like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. Interestingly, this is Rocket Internet's maiden exit from an Indian portfolio firm.
