The commerce secretary today reiterated fears of a slowing export situation in the nation. Given the crisis that the US and European economy riddle in, this comes as no surprise. It is in such an environment that the government is considering withdrawal of the DePB scheme even as there is no clarity on the replacement duty-drawback scheme.
