The Power Ministry has said that companies producing power should approach the state utilities directly, if they want their tariffs reworked, reports CNBC-TV18's Anchal Gupta.
Stung by skyrocketing coal prices, power companies in India had asked the UPA government to revise tariffs set by state governments. But the Centre said this is an issue that companies must take up with state governments.
