The Indian Premier League (IPL) has not only garnered a huge fan following, it has also captured the interest of other sports. Indian hockey is now all set to go the IPL way. CNBC-TV18's Tanvi Shukla reports.
Hockey fans are in for a treat. Come December, eight teams consisting of 176 Indian and international players will battle it out at India's new big hockey league -- World Series Hockey. It's an idea spawned by the success of the IPL created by the Indian Hockey Federation and Nimbus Sports to create a wider fan base, develop infrastructure and find new talent.
