2G: Loop Tele chargesheet likely in few days, 8 on hit list

The 2G spectrum scam seems to be back in the news as the charge-sheet in the Loop Telecom conspiracy is likely in the next few days, reports CNBC-TV18's Malvika Jain.

Sources now reveal that the CBI has almost finalized its charge-sheet against the company and in the charge-sheet eight individuals are likely to be named. It includes the former telecom minister, A Raja, former telecom secretary, Siddharth Behura and a former legal advisor to the Department of Telecommunications and 5 executives of Loop Telecom, including some directors. Sources said that the eight accused have been charged under the two sections of the IPC, including 420 and 120(B), which stand for cheating and criminal conspiracy, while the public servants have been also additionally booked under section 13(2) and 13(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act that deals with criminal misconduct by public servants. Sources within the CBI have also confirmed that charge-sheet is expected but the final details will emerge only once the charge-sheet is submitted at the trail court.
