Madras HC adjourns bulk diesel price case to Thursday

The Madras High Court had passed an interim order banning oil marketing companies from selling bulk diesel at market rates to the state owned transport companies.

The Madras High Court had passed an interim order banning oil marketing companies from selling bulk diesel at market rates to the state owned transport companies.

The government (Centre) had appealed in the Madras High Court against the stay and the case was heard on Tuesday. The arguments continued for the second day and the case has been adjourned till Thursday, reports CNBC-TV18’s Swathi Narayanan. After all the arguments were over, the Madras High Court asked the Centre if they would accept bank guarantees for the difference in price from the date on which the interim order was passed till this entire matter has been heard completely.
