Dinesh Trivedi (Former Railway Minister) hailed as a hero by some people while others have said his grand standing has endangered the government. People have praised his proposals for the railways and yet he is no longer the minister. He denies having stated that the general direction of Budget and key issues like fare hikes was something that the party leader Mamata Banerjee would have known. He feels that there was no opportunity to either convince or get convinced on the issues of the Railway Budget. He would have tried to do so because at the end of the day he was appointed by his party.
