In the past few weeks, there has been considerable concern whether the Companies Bill 2009 will keep its date with the budget session of parliament as promised by the previous minister Salman Khurshid. Today the new minister of that ministry Murli Deora met with several stakeholders, including, leaders from corporate India to talk about the several areas of differences that continue between the ministry and India Inc.
There are ten different issues from managerial remuneration to mandatory CSR as well as restrictions on subsidiaries. The ministry has promised that the Companies Bill, after incorporating several of these changes will make it to the budget session of parliament.
