Axis Bank Deputy MD Rajiv Anand to retire on August 3

Axis Bank on April 25 announced that its Deputy Managing Director Rajiv Anand will retire from his services on August 3 with the completion of his third term as a Director on the lender's board. Anand took charge on the leadership front of the bank on December 27, 2021.

After his retirement, Anand will continue to be associated with the Axis Group as a Non-Executive Chairperson of Axis Max Life Insurance Limited. "Rajiv has been instrumental in transforming the Corporate Bank and contributed to building our retail franchise in its formative years. Rajiv has built and groomed a strong team. We have a strong leadership pipeline at the Bank that will ensure that our clients continue to receive best in class service and our competitive positioning continues to improve," Axis Bank said in an exchange filing.

Notably, Rajiv Anand had joined the bank in 2013 and has served different roles over the years.

The lender also announced some appointments to its board. Sameer Shetty has been appointed as Group Executive, DBAT and Strategic Programs. He currently heads Digital Business and Transformation vertical at Axis Bank. Prior to joining Axis Bank in 2019, Shetty worked with McKinsey as a Partner in Mumbai.
