Mumbai: Lord’s Mark industries limited has signed a Technology Transfer Agreement with the Centre of Materials of Electronic Technology (CMET) to produce an AI-based, radiation-free Breast Screening Wearable Device that may be used as an early indicator of breast cancer.

India has the third highest number of new breast cancer cases in the world, only China and the US follow India, with the disease constituting more than a quarter of all female cancers in the nation. It is estimated that the global market value of breast cancer will reach USD 4,882.14 million in 2024 and USD 12,880.85 million in 2035 with a CAGR of 9.22% (MRFR). Grand View Research points to the dominance of the diagnostics market by the need to have early diagnoses to market its products, whereas Future Market Insights predicts the screening and diagnostics market to reach USD 5.05–5.86 billion in 2025 with the promise of obtaining USD 10.5-11.36 billion in 2033-2035.

The wearable combines thermal sensors with high accuracy and AI-powered temperature mapping to detect abnormalities in the body early and in a non-invasive, radiation-free way. The joint venture will bring together CMET innovation capabilities in research and development and the manufacturing and distribution capabilities of Lord Marks to increase the pace of native med-tech innovation.
