As the weather changes so does your skin texture. While humidity can result in breakouts, dry weather can make your skin flaky and itchy. As per skincare experts, making subtle changes in your routine can help your skin stay clear and healthy in every season, including monsoon:

Do you ever change your skincare routine, or stick to the same all round the year? Change in seasons is synonymous with change in clothes. You choose cottons in summer, layers in winter. Similarly, the shift in weather from sticky and humid to dry and chilly is time to make the required skincare changes to avoid skin issues like pimples, flaky patches, redness or dullness.

Your skin shows subtle signs to suggest your skincare routine needs a little seasonal update. “Many people come with breakouts during humid months and dry, sensitive skin during winter,” says Dr Geeta Grewal, Cosmetologist and Founder of 9Muses Wellness Clinic. “It’s not about expensive creams. It is about using the right kind of care for the climate,” she suggests.

When the air is humid, your skin sweats more and produces extra oil. This clogs your pores and causes pimples or fungal infections. In contrast, when the weather becomes dry, the air pulls out the moisture from your skin, making it rough, itchy, or even red and sensitive. “Your skin is always trying to protect you. But if you don’t support it with the right products, it struggles,” warns Dr Ameesha Mahajan, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Founder of Eden Skin Clinic.
