For centuries, coriander and fenugreek have been staples in Indian households—not just for flavour, but for their medicinal properties. Coriander contains antioxidants and essential oils known to support fat metabolism. Fenugreek, on the other hand, boasts high levels of soluble fibre and compounds like saponins that help the body flush out cholesterol by binding it in the gut.

“It’s true that these seeds have some cholesterol-lowering potential,” says Dr Gulshan Rohra, Consultant, Cardio-thoracic Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central. "Coriander can support liver function and improve digestion, which indirectly benefits cholesterol. Fenugreek, thanks to its fibre content, slows fat absorption. But expecting a complete transformation in 21 days is, frankly, overambitious", Rohra.
