Sobhita Dhulipala is an Indian actress, who first caught the nation's eye when she was crowned the Femina Miss India Earth title in 2013. This victory opened doors to a successful modeling career, setting the stage for her eventual shift into acting.
Mostly working in Hindi and Telugu films, Sobhita has showed her talent through a series of notable performances. In 2023, she expanded her horizons to Hollywood, starring in Dev Patel’s action thriller Monkey Man, which also marked Patel’s directorial debut.
Born on May 31, 1992, in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, Sobhita was raised in Visakhapatnam by her father, Venugopal Rao, a Merchant Navy engineer, and her mother, Santha Kamakshi, a primary school teacher. She later moved to Mumbai for higher education, enrolling at HR College of Commerce and Economics to study corporate law.
Sobhita's first taste of success came in 2010 when she was crowned the Navy Queen at the annual Navy Ball. Her acting debut arrived in 2016 with Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed film Raman Raghav 2.0, where she portrayed the complex character of Smrutika Naidu opposite Vicky Kaushal. Despite being her debut, Sobhita's performance was lauded for its depth and maturity, earning her widespread praise.
Following her impressive debut, Sobhita appeared in several films, including Kaalakaandi, directed by Akshat Verma; Chef, by Raja Menon and the highly acclaimed Telugu film Goodachari, opposite Adivi Sesh.
Sobhita's breakthrough moment came with the Amazon Prime Video web series Made in Heaven in 2019. In the series, she played Tara Khanna, a fierce wedding planner navigating her ambitions while battling societal norms. The show was very successful and significantly contributed to Sobhita's fame.

Her diverse roles include the Netflix spy thriller Bard of Blood, the Malayalam film Moothon, the Hindi film The Body alongside Emraan Hashmi, and the anthology film Ghost Stories. She also starred in Kurup, the Hindi-Telugu film Major, and two seasons of The Night Manager with Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. Perhaps the most significant role of her career came with Mani Ratnam’s epic Ponniyin Selvan: I and its sequel.
