Before becoming one of Bollywood’s popular actresses, Parineeti Chopra had a very different career trajectory in mind. With an academic background in finance and aspirations of working in investment banking, she found herself at a crossroads when her plans didn’t pan out. Determined to make a fresh start, Parineeti turned to her cousin Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, for help.

In a candid interview with Raj Shamani, Parineeti revealed in a podcast how she approached Dr. Madhu, or as she calls her, “Mimi didi,” for guidance. She said, "Mimi didi, Priyanka’s mother, my badi mamma, I took her into confidence and I said, ‘listen, you have to help me. Can you please help me find a job?’ I promised to move to Mumbai without returning to my hometown Ambala if she could help."

Despite Dr. Madhu’s support, finding a job in the financial sector wasn’t easy, as the banks were not hiring. One day, while visiting Priyanka on the sets of Pyar Impossible at Yash Raj Films (YRF), Parineeti’s career took an unexpected turn. She met the marketing head of YRF and requested a job, explaining her situation. Despite being told she was "overqualified," Parineeti insisted, "I know, but I don't have a job, just give me a job." That persistence landed her an internship with YRF.

Parineeti’s time as a YRF intern opened the doors to the film industry, where her talent and charisma soon caught the eye of casting directors. Her career took off with her debut in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), followed by several successful films, including Ishaqzaade and Hasee Toh Phasee, cementing her position as a versatile actress in Bollywood.
