Adnan Sami, the celebrated singer known for hits like "Kabhi To Nazar Milao," recently opened up about his remarkable weight-loss journey in a candid interview.
Adnan, who once weighed over 230 kg, shared that in 2006, doctors delivered a grim ultimatum: he had only six months to live if he didn’t take immediate action to address his weight. This moment marked a turning point in his life, as losing weight became a matter of survival.
Adnan revealed that the urgency of the situation left him with no choice but to embark on a drastic weight-loss journey. “In 2006, doctors told me I had six months to live because I was grossly overweight. I weighed 230 kilos. They said, ‘If you don’t do something, you’re not going to make it.’ It was a do-or-die situation,” Adnan shared in his interview with Humans of Bombay.
His transformation left many speculating about the reasons behind his dramatic weight loss. Some assumed it was for a film role or because of a romantic interest.
However, Adnan Sami clarified that his motivation was far more profound. “I was doing it for survival. I wanted to live. There was no better motivation than that,” he said.
Reflecting on the challenges he faced, Adnan Sami admitted that even he had moments of doubt. “A lot of people, including those close to me, had given up on me, thinking I couldn’t do it. I don’t blame them—it was a herculean task,” he said.
The singer credited a “wonderful nutritionist” who guided him through the process by encouraging him to take baby steps rather than focus on the daunting goal ahead. This approach helped Sami lose an astonishing 120 kg.
Despite the difficulty of the journey, Sami ultimately succeeded by making significant lifestyle changes. “I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to stick with it, but I did, and I managed to lose almost 120 kilos,” he said.
Today, Sami’s transformation stands as a testament to the power of discipline and consistency, inspiring countless others who face similar challenges.
