With its record-breaking pre-release business, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, is already one of 2025's most talked-about releases. According to reports, the film's Telugu theatrical rights were sold for an incredible Rs 80 crore.

The rights for the Telugu-speaking states have been purchased by Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainments, according to a Gulte report. The Telugu release was initially anticipated to be handled by the project's production company, Yash Raj Films (YRF). But instead, the studio decided to work with a local distributor because of Jr. NTR's enormous fan base in the area.

After tense negotiations, the deal was closed. According to sources, YRF's initial quote for the Telugu rights was Rs 100 crore. Following several rounds of negotiations, the deal was finally reached for Rs 80 crore, which is a huge sum but not surprising given Jr. NTR's popularity at the box office.

Sithara Entertainments has previously made significant investments in Jr. NTR. For a record Rs 120 crore, they previously purchased the Telugu distribution rights for his next movie, Devara, which co-stars Janhvi Kapoor.
