While speaking to the media on the red carpet, Vir Das admitted feeling nervous. He said, "I am nervous, but in a good way. I think if you don't feel a little nervous before a show, it's not going to be a good show. So, I'm definitely in the zone." The actor went on to talk about hosting the International Emmys, saying, "I do think being international yourself helps, as it allows you to focus on what we all have in common—we're all underdogs. We tell original stories and come from similar circumstances. I’m focusing on what connects us and plan to have a bit of fun with America. Hopefully, that will do the trick!"
When Vir Das was announced as the host, he took to his Instagram stories to reveal that he would be wearing a new designer for the Emmys. He said, "If you're a budding designer, label, or student, and you can create super formal attire, send us an email at contact@zazuproduction.com."
On Monday, Vir Das shared an announcement, saying, "As promised, I know nothing about fashion. But she does, and she worked super hard. Her name is Shubhangi Bajpai, and she’s from Delhi. I'm excited to show you her work soon. Do keep in mind, she doesn't have much to work with here."
In his closing remarks at the event, Vir Das shared his parting thoughts, saying, "I hope this isn't the end of the road because I've played three roles here. I love this show. It's a show for underdogs—people who have to work much harder to get here than most others. The audience comes in with great spirits, taking nothing for granted. I'd love to be back anytime and in any capacity."
