TV industry is mourning the tragic loss of actor Vikas Sethi who died of a massive heart attack at the age of 48 on Sunday (September 8).
Though fans remember him from the hit TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, not many would recall that he was also a part of the hit movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham that released in 2001.
Vikas had played a small role of Robbie, who was the date of Kareen Kapoor's character Poo in the movie.
In the movie there is a scene where he is seen standing against a fancy bike with a group of friends at Kareena's college.
Robbie calls Poo and asks her for a movie date, “Hey Poo, movie tonight?” She responds in her signature style, 'Tell me how it was.'
Poo's friends ask her why she throws so much ‘attitude’ as Robbie is a college heartthrob. Poo says “He's nice, but wo mere type ka nahi hai."
There is another scene where Robbie is seen as Poo's (Kareena) date for a dance night. He comes to pick her up from her house, she flirts with him as she wants to make Rohan, played by Hrithik Roshan, jealous.
Director Karan Johar has revealed one interesting fact about the role of Robbie on his show Koffee With Karan in 2004. He revealed that the role was originally offered to John Abraham.
John said: "I used to come to Karan for a lot of advice, then Karan said, ‘I have got a great role for you in K3G, which I want to offer you, of Robbie. I was looking out for Robbie in the whole movie, ‘Where’s Robbie, where’s Robbie,’ I couldn’t see Robbie.”
John had turned down the offer, and Robbie was played by Vikas Sethi.
Karan apologised to John and admitted that it was a very small part. John later went on work with Karan in Dostana.
