Veteran Tamil actor Rajesh passes away at 75

Rajesh, a stalwart of Tamil cinema whose career spanned more than five decades, has passed away at the age of 75. Although specifics are still unknown, reports state that the veteran actor passed away from health issues.

Rajesh was a prolific and multifaceted artist who appeared in more than 150 Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. Known for his smooth transitions between character and lead roles, he won over South Indian audiences with his powerful on-screen persona and captivating performances.

Rajesh's career extended beyond the movie theatre. His skills included writing, television, and voice acting. He voiced many productions as a proficient dubbing artist, and a new generation of viewers admired him for his work in Tamil television serials. His contributions to many areas of the business demonstrated not only his adaptability but also his enduring love of acting and storytelling.

On social media, actress Radikaa Sarathkumar paid respect to Rajesh while lamenting the passing of her long-time friend and coworker. She recalled their work together, calling him “a knowledgeable and deeply respected figure” in the field and said his absence would be felt deeply.

In the critically acclaimed Tamil film Aval Oru Thodarkathai (1974), Rajesh made his cinematic debut in a supporting role. Even though he played a small part, it opened doors for others. He shot to fame with his first leading role in Rajkannu's Kanni Paruvathile (1979).
