Sonu Sood visits flood-affected Punjab villages, assures treatment for little boy with kidney disease

Actor Sonu Sood once again stepped into the role of a real-life hero as he visited flood-hit areas in Punjab and promised support to a young boy battling a kidney disease. The actor, who has become a familiar face in relief work over the years, met the child named Avijot and assured his family that his treatment would continue uninterrupted despite the ongoing crisis.

On Sunday, Sood travelled to Punjab, where heavy floods have wreaked havoc across several districts. According to state officials, nearly 2,000 villages have been impacted, with more than four lakh people affected and 46 lives lost.

Rescue and relief operations are being carried out by the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and volunteers on the ground.

Sharing his experience on X, Sood posted pictures from his hospital visit with Avijot. He wrote, “Met little Avijot today in Punjab - a brave soul with a big fight ahead. We’ll do everything we can to help him heal. Wishing this little angel strength and a speedy recovery. He’s not alone.”
