‘Son of Assam, son of India’: Congress leader Nurul Huda mourns Zubeen Garg’s tragic demise

Singer and songwriter Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 in a scuba diving accident. He received tributes from all over India. Politicians have also remembered the contribution of the singer to the music industry.

Congress leader Nurul Huda condoles the death of the late Assamese singer. In a conversation with ANI, Nurul Huda said, “Zubeen Garg has passed away. He is the son of Assam and Bharat. He is the son of the world of music. He is trying very hard to take over Assam's Bishwa Darbar. And he is able to do so. I am very saddened by his death. And we wish his soul to rest in peace.”


The Assam CM added in the tweet, “Our future generations will remember him as a stalwart of Assam’s culture, and his works will inspire many more talented artists in the days and years to come. Beyond his music, his connection with people and passion for helping them will always be remembered. I will greatly cherish all my interactions with him.”

The chief minister also informed reporters that the Indian High Commission is in constant communication with Singaporean authorities, who will determine whether an autopsy is necessary.
