Amazon Prime Video is set to debut a gripping new Southern gothic crime thriller, Sinners, on June 3. This original series follows the story of two identical twin brothers, Elijah and Elias, who return to their Mississippi hometown after years of working within a criminal underworld. In their possession is a stolen fortune from the very syndicate they once served—money that will fuel their ambitious and dangerous new venture.
Instead of laying low, the brothers decide to open a juke joint—a lively music venue and bar steeped in local Black culture. Their goal is to create a haven for the community, a place of celebration, art, and resistance in the face of growing oppression and poverty. But not everyone sees it that way. A local pastor warns them against their plans, suspecting that the juke joint may be cursed—or worse, tied to the supernatural forces that have long haunted the region.

As the juke joint flourishes, mysterious and sinister events begin to unfold. Patrons speak of visions, disappearances, and eerie music that seems to beckon from beyond. The brothers’ past sins begin to catch up with them—not just in the form of angry gangsters hunting them down, but also in the form of something far older and far more dangerous than any earthly threat.
Sinners explores deep themes of redemption, cultural preservation, faith, and the cost of escaping one's past. The dynamic between Elijah and Elias—two men who look identical but are morally distinct—adds complexity to the narrative, as each struggles with his own demons while trying to protect what they’ve built.
Visually rich and soaked in Southern atmosphere, Sinners blends elements of crime drama, horror, and folklore into a uniquely haunting series. With its powerful performances, gripping storytelling, and cultural resonance, Sinners is poised to become one of the summer’s most talked-about new shows.
Don't miss the premiere of Sinners—streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting June 3.
