Actress Shraddha Kapoor is trending again, but this time it’s not for a film. It’s her LinkedIn profile that has everyone talking. Yes, LinkedIn. The actress, who is among the most-followed Indian stars on Instagram, quietly listed her old work experiences, and fans can’t get enough of it.
The profile reveals something few knew. Back in October 2005, while studying psychology at Boston University, Shraddha worked as a barista at Starbucks in Boston.
“I was the worst and slowest Barista in Boston. I want to find all the customers and apologise,” she wrote under the listing. Short-lived, sure, she only lasted till December 2005.
But there’s more. Her next job? Sandwich maker at Einstein Bros Bagels, also in Boston, from January to March 2006. By her own account, she didn’t stick around long because life had other plans. She dropped out of Boston University after just a year when filmmaker Ambika Hinduja offered her Teen Patti. That decision kickstarted her acting career.
Since March 2009, her profile lists her as an “Actor – self-employed” in Mumbai. Sixteen years later, Shraddha Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s most bankable names and, outside cinema, a co-founder of the jewelry brand PALMONAS, launched earlier this year in March 2024.
Of course, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing online. Recently, her attempt to join LinkedIn hit a bizarre hurdle when the platform flagged her verified account as fake. The actress posted on Instagram asking LinkedIn to help restore it so she could share her entrepreneurial journey.
From pulling espresso shots in Boston to ruling the big screen in Mumbai, Shraddha’s LinkedIn reads like a story of humble beginnings, and her fans seem to love every bit of it.
