Sonakshi Sinha recently called out Mukesh Khanna for repeatedly revisiting her mistake on Kaun Banega Crorepati regarding the Ramayan question and now her father and politician Shatrughan Sinha has commented on this issue.
For those unfamiliar, Sonakshi had forgotten who Lord Hanuman brought the sanjeevani booti for, prompting her to use a lifeline during the quiz show. Mukesh Khanna has made several comments about this slip-up in the past, and this time, Sonakshi decided to speak up. Notably, in 2020, her father, Shatrughan Sinha, also defended her by criticizing Mukesh for his constant remarks about the incident. The ongoing attention has stirred a debate about whether such comments are necessary, with Sonakshi expressing her discomfort over the matter.
Shatrughan Sinha, while not directly naming Mukesh Khanna, questioned who had appointed him as the "guardian" of the Hindu religion. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shatrughan expressed his displeasure, stating, "I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?"
"I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone," Shatrughan continued.
Interestingly, Shatrughan Sinha has incorporated elements from the Ramayan into his personal life. He named his sons after the legendary twins, Luv and Kush, and even named his house "Ramayan," reflecting his deep connection to the epic.
In a recent interview, Mukesh Khanna criticized Sonakshi Sinha's father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for not imparting cultural knowledge, blaming him for her inability to answer a question correctly about the Ramayan on a show. Sonakshi responded through Instagram stories, expressing her displeasure with Khanna's comments. "I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back," she wrote. "Let me remind you, there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious."
