Saif Ali Khan has returned home from the hospital following the stabbing incident at his Bandra residence. In a gesture of gratitude, he and his wife Kareena Kapoor plan to reward their domestic help, Eliyamma Philip, for her brave actions during the attack on January 16.
According to sources, Saif is eager to meet his staff, Philip in person to personally thank her for protecting him by intervening between him and the assailant. Her courage played a crucial role in preventing further harm during the harrowing ordeal.
Philip is also an important witness in the ongoing investigation and has provided her statement to the police.
On January 16, Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked, sustaining nearly six stab wounds when an intruder broke into his flat during the early hours.
The intruder made his way into the room of the couple’s youngest son, Jeh (Jehangir), but was spotted by one of the female staff members. She immediately raised an alarm, alerting the household and preventing further harm.
The courageous act of the staff member was crucial in stopping the situation from escalating, and her quick thinking played a key role in Saif's safety.
During the surgery, doctors successfully removed a three-inch-long knife fragment that had been lodged in Saif's back. Eliyamma Phillip, who bravely intervened to protect Saif, also sustained injuries and received medical care.
Saif Ali Khan's sister, Saba Pataudi, took to social media to share two heartfelt photos with the domestic staff, calling them "heroes" for their brave actions during the attack. She expressed her gratitude for their courage, particularly highlighting their quick response to the intruder's presence, which played a crucial role in preventing further harm.
Her post read, "The unsung heroes...who literally pulled their weight when it mattered most! Bless you both n ALL whose who contributed in keeping my brother n his family safe! You are the BEST!"
Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi citizen, has been apprehended in connection with the stabbing incident. He has been taken into police custody for a five-day period.
Authorities have collected his hair samples from Jeh's room, which are now being sent for forensic examination.
The police are actively conducting an investigation into the matter.
