Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly has found herself in the middle of controversy after a video of her riding a scooter without a helmet went viral. The incident occurred on the night of September 21, when Rupali was seen leaving an awards show.
In an attempt to avoid traffic, she opted to ride a scooter with Kaushal Joshi, who is said to be Shehnaaz Gill’s manager. However, what caught the attention of fans was the fact that neither Rupali nor her companion wore helmets during the ride.
The video quickly went viral, and while some fans praised Rupali for her simplicity, many were critical of the duo for ignoring safety measures. One comment read, “Why that guy is not wearing a helmet?” while another sarcastically noted, “Celebrities don’t need helmets.”
Rupali Ganguly was attending the Star Parivaar Awards 2024, where she won multiple awards, including Best Patni, Best Bahu, and Best Maa, cementing her status as a fan favorite.
The actress plays the titular role in Anupamaa, a show that has been in the spotlight recently due to the exit of actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who portrayed Vanraj Shah.
Sudhanshu’s departure from the show had sparked rumors that Rupali was responsible for his exit, but the actor himself addressed the issue in August, clarifying that the decision was his own and no one else’s. “No one can be responsible for firing an actor like me,” he said, dismissing the speculation.

Meanwhile, reports about Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna (who plays Anuj) leaving the show have been circulating.
However, in a recent interview, Anupamaa producer Rajan Shahi firmly denied these rumors, assuring fans that neither actor is planning to exit the show anytime soon.
