Orry, whose legal name is Orhan Awatraman, was booked for consuming alcohol near Vaishno Devi in Katra. A police complaint has been filed against Orry and his friends at the Katra Police Station.
The Jammu and Kashmir police detained Orry and 7 others, which also includes Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina. They're accused of breaking the District Magistrate's rules and disrespecting religious sentiments after visiting the Vaishno Devi temple.
Orry and his friends were charged with violating Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyosa Sanhita. They were allegedly consuming alcohol within their hotel premises in Katra's Cottage Suite area, despite strict prohibitions on alcohol and non-vegetarian food.
The Cottage Suite area in Katra, where the group allegedly consumed alcohol, is subject to strict regulations prohibiting non-vegetarian food and alcohol due to its proximity to the revered Vaishno Devi shrine, a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site.
He was partying with his friends - Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal and Shagun Kohli.
Following a complaint, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh directed strict action, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for disrupting the sanctity of religious places.
However, the police official told Times Now, “A special team, under the supervision of SP Katra, Dy SP Katra, and SHO Katra, was formed to investigate the matter. Notices will be sent to all accused individuals, including Orry, instructing them to join the probe. SSP Reasi has reiterated that anyone violating the law, especially by indulging in activities like alcohol or drug consumption at religious sites, will be dealt with strictly.”
The arrest came after Orry documented his recent visit to the Vaishno Devi shrine with his friends. The video instantly went viral on social media in which Orry can be seen flaunting his phone cover and enjoying himself with his friends.
However, the alcohol bottles are visible on the table, which received huge backlash on social media.
For the unaware, Orry is a close friend to several young celebrities, including Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Khushi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
