Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev and her fiancé Shaun White have called off their engagement and ended their five-year relationship. The Associated Press quoted a source saying the breakup was a mutual decision.
After this news broke, people saw Nina on vacation with actor Zac Efron on the Italian coast. They took a yacht ride together, and many photos show them close to each other making people wonder if they're dating.
Several photos of the duo enjoying a vacation have been circulating on social media, sparking further dating rumours.
On Saturday, September 20, onlookers noticed the two standing near each other and seeming to look at each other with fondness.
Nina, 36, and her ex-fiancé Shaun 39, made their relationship public in 2020. During their time together, they sometimes posted about their trips and showed support for each other's work. Early on, one of their Instagram posts showed Dobrev giving the Olympic halfpipe rider—famously nicknamed “The Flying Tomato” for his red hair—a “quarantine haircut” during the COVID lockdown.
The pair shared news of their upcoming marriage in October 2024 through a heartfelt social media update. It showed White on one knee in front of Dobrev at a New York eatery, with white rose petals and candles all around. White's caption read, "She said YES," alongside a diamond ring emoji.
Even so, reports say the two were last spotted together in public on August 31. Dobrev then went to the Toronto International Film Festival last week without her engagement ring on her finger.

Neither Nina nor Shaun has made an official statement about their separation, and the reasons behind the breakup remain unknown.
On the work front, Nina was last seen in the 2024 film Renuion, streaming on Netflix, which revolves around a murder-mystery after someone is murdered at a high school reunion party. As all the other guests are trapped in a mansion, without any knowledge of whom to trust around them, the film explores how they find the killer.
