Ariana Grande looked like a fairy-tale come-to-life on the red carpet of the 2024 Met Gala. The pop singer wore a beautiful mother of pearl corset dress by Loewe. But the ethereal looks from the ‘Into You’ singer didn’t stop there. Grande was a surprise performer at the Met Gala so she obviously needed a change of outfit. She performed songs from her latest album, ‘Eternal Sunshine’, for the first time, all while wearing a beautiful green sheer Maison Margiela gown designed by John Galliano.

“So here is the thing: I am the biggest Margiela and John Galliano fan on the planet, so when I heard that there was a chance that John was going to be designing my costume, I wept,” says the singer. “When I saw the sketch, I wept. When I tried it on, I wept. The whole thing has been quite a lot.”

This year’s theme was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ and Grande was tasked with delivering a performance that felt on theme. The 30 year old pop singer did just that. The performance started out with a “sleeping” Ariana Grande being carried onto the stage by a troupe dancers who looked like they came out the ‘Lord of the Ring’ movies while a transporting orchestral arrangement played.

For her first song, Grande sang ‘Once Upon A Dream’ from the classic Disney  film ‘Sleeping Beauty’ as an ode to the theme of this year. She beautifully blended her hit songs for her setlist which included - ‘Into You’, ‘7 Rings’, Yes, And?’, ‘We Can’t Be Friends’, and ‘The Boy Is Mine’.
