Swifties and the MCU fandoms are two very different types of fan bases. But what if they get together to become one omnipotent fanbase?
Marvel and Swift seem to be teasing a collaboration since the Grammy winning singer’s album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ (TTPD) dropped.
On 16 May, Marvel announced a new four part comic series for ‘Dazzler’ - a character who is rumoured to be played by none other than Taylor Swift.
The announcement garnered a lot of reactions from netizens.
One person wrote, “Just announce Taylor Swift as the role. She’s gonna bring a lot of fans who aren’t into the MCU into the MCU world.”
Another person wrote, “Hmm… I wonder why they’re dropping a Dazzler mini-series right after the release of Deadpool and Wolverine…” they uploaded a Taylor Swift gif with the tweet.
“Yeeeah it’s def gonna be Taylor Swift for the Deadpool and Wolverine movie won’t it?” another person agreed.
Marvel writer Jason Loo released a statement saying, ““Rafael and I are giving everyone backstage access to the greatest show of the decade: the Dazzler World Tour! Sounds exciting? Not for Dazzler when she’s facing tons of pressure from all sorts of people trying to cancel her shows. But she’s not going down without a fight. Get ready to sing along to some new, original songs off of her new album! Some of them may be about her exes.”
Taylor Swift is known for writing songs that are inspired by her past relationships and she is currently also on a very successful world tour titled ‘The Eras Tour’.
The ‘Dazzler’ rumours started swirling when Swift released her latest album TTPD which featured a suspicious lyric. A song titled ‘Clara Bow’ had a lyric with the word ‘dazzling’. This came after months of public speculation surrounding Swift joining a ‘Deadpool’ film.
Could this materialise into an actual cameo or even a movie role for Swift?
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is just two months away and the excitement amongst the MCU fans is at an all time high.
