Production costs for the F1 film starring Brad Pitt has reportedly ballooned to over $300 million and is set to become one of the most expensive films ever made. According to other reports, the film has also been finding difficulties in distribution and a release date.

Brad Pitt’s untitled film (rumored to be Apex), is going to be a major cause of concern on its hefty price tag. Though the Hollywood heartthrob has had an illustrious career starring in blockbuster hits one after the other, this could be the most expensive project he’s ever worked on.

The F1 film which is based on a fictional plot began its production in July 2023 just a few days before the 118-day SAG-AFTRA strike started, which caused a significant delay in its production. Another reason why the film is exorbitantly high is because the movie put real actors in real race cars. Moreover, the film was shot during actual races at the racing circuits. Brad Pitt who is playing the lead, drove a modified Formula 2 car with an added Formula One aerodynamic package at the British grand prix last year (not in an official race). The fact that real actors were made to drive the beastly machines means that there was an added cost for the training and enhanced safety protocols for the actors to follow.

As of now there is not much information about the adrenaline packed movie. In an exclusive chat with Sky Sports, Brad Pitt revealed his role as Sonny Hayes, a retired F1 driver who, after a major crash in the 1990s, leaves the series. Javier Bardem portrays a struggling F1 team owner who recruits Hayes years later to join APXGP as a mentor to young racer Joshua Pierce, played by Damson Idris.
