Playback singer Monali Thakur's recent concert in Varanasi turned into a disheartening experience for both her and the audience due to severe mismanagement by the event organisers. The event was abruptly cut short, and the singer had to walk off the stage, citing safety concerns, particularly with an improperly set-up stage. In a heartfelt statement, she apologised to her fans and promised that a future performance would be conducted under much better conditions.

Monali, who is known for chart-topping tracks like Sawaar Loon and Cham Cham, expressed her deep frustration over the issues that led to the premature end of the concert. She accused the organisers of being "irresponsible and unethical" for failing to ensure the safety and comfort of both the performers and the audience. She explained that the stage was not adequately set up, which put her at risk of an ankle injury while performing with her dancers. Monali's concern for safety was evident as she addressed the situation, mentioning that her dancers had also warned her about the precarious conditions.

In a video shared with her fans, Monali Thakur candidly expressed her disappointment, stating, "I am disheartened that my team and I were so excited to perform here. Let's not talk about the infrastructure and its condition, as that is the management's responsibility. Time and again, I've said that I could injure my ankle here. My dancers have been telling me to calm down, but everything was a mess." These words highlighted her genuine concern for the safety of both herself and her dancers, adding emotional weight to the situation.

As the concert came to an abrupt halt, Monali did not hold back her criticism of the event management. She continued, "We were trying so hard because I am answerable to you all, and you come for me, right? So, you will hold me accountable for all of this. I hope I grow so much that I can take all the responsibility myself and never have to rely on any Tom, Dick, and Harry who are such a waste, unethical, and irresponsible." This statement underscored her accountability toward her fans, despite the circumstances being out of her control. She also expressed her desire to ensure that future shows would be free from such mishaps, assuring the audience that she would return to Varanasi for a better event.
