Mohanlal, who is currently promoting his directorial debut Barroz 3D, released last week, shared intriguing thoughts about the future of the Drishyam franchise.

In an interview with India Today Digital, the superstar revealed that he would be open to the idea of a crossover with Ajay Devgn, who played the lead in the Hindi adaptation of the thriller. However, when asked about the likelihood of such a collaboration, Mohanlal admitted that he had "no idea." about the franchise.

Talking about Drishyam 3, Mohanlal stated "I have no idea. It’s in the process, in the pipeline. It is not that easy to bring out a good sequel. It is a big challenge. Part three is a big headache for them, for the director and for all of us. But we are in the process. It will happen some day, I am also praying for it to happen."

Drishyam 2 (2022) is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller directed by Abhishek Pathak. A sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, it is a remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name. The movie stars Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Akshaye Khanna in key roles. Set seven years after the first film, Drishyam 2 continues to explore Vijay and his family's life as they face the re-emergence of past events and new investigations that jeopardize their hard-earned peace.
