Actor Mannara Chopra, cousin of Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, was seen in an emotional moment during the funeral of her father, Raman Rai Handa, who passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 72. The cremation ceremony took place on Thursday in Mumbai, where Mannara, alongside her sister Mitali Handa and other family members, bid a tearful farewell to their beloved father.
Mannara and Mitali were visibly overwhelmed with grief as they stood side by side, comforting each other amid the sorrow.
Captured in photos and videos shared by paparazzi on social media, the sisters were seen holding hands, tears streaming down their faces as they prepared for the last rites.
Mannara insisted on carrying her father’s bier along with the male family members, defying conventional norms and showing her deep commitment to honoring her father.
Raman Rai Handa was a respected lawyer who practiced at the Delhi High Court. He was the pillar of strength for his family, as Mannara mentioned in her heartfelt official statement, which read: “With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family.” He is survived by his wife Kamini Chopra Handa and daughters Mannara and Mitali.
The family received condolences from across the industry and beyond. Priyanka Chopra, a global icon and Mannara’s cousin, took to Instagram Stories to share her heartfelt message. She wrote, “You’ll always be in our hearts. Rest easy Raman uncle (fufaji). Om Shanti.” Siddharth Chopra, Priyanka’s brother, also expressed his sorrow by sharing Mannara’s statement and adding, “Will miss you Raman uncle.”
