Several paparazzi videos have emerged on social media, capturing Malaika Arora's mother, Joyce, arriving at a Gurudwara for Anil Mehta's prayer meet. In a subsequent video, Malaika is seen attending the Gurudwara with her sister, Amrita Arora, and close friend, Kareena Kapoor.
Malaika released an official statement on her social media, confirming her father Anil's passing and requesting privacy from her fans during the difficult time, "Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy," she wrote in the post.

Joyce Polycarp, Anil Mehta's wife, was at their flat in Ayesha Manor, Bandra, when he tragically jumped from the sixth-floor balcony, leading to his death by suicide. Meanwhile, Malaika was in Pune for work commitments at the time of her father's passing.
Her ex-husband, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, was the first to arrive at the Arora residence after the news broke. Reports suggest that Anil, in his 60s, made a final phone call to his daughters Malaika and Amrita, expressing that he was "sick and tired." He then reportedly turned off his mobile phone before taking this tragic step.
