Released in 2022, Vadh became a standout thriller, captivating audiences with its intense storyline and outstanding performances by Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta. The film's success has now paved the way for an exciting spiritual sequel, Vadh 2, announced by producers Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under their banner Luv Films. The sequel will once again feature the talented duo, Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, bringing their powerful performances to the screen once more.
Directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vadh 2 promises to take the gripping storytelling and stellar performances from the first film to even greater heights.
In a heartwarming and spiritually significant gesture, the cast and crew of Vadh 2, including Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta, director Jaspal Singh Sandhu, and producer Ankur Garg, recently visited the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. This grand occasion allowed them to seek divine blessings for their film's success. As part of their ritual, they took a holy dip at the sacred Sangam Ghat, where the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet, participating in this time-honoured spiritual tradition. Additionally, the team visited the Akshay Vat Temple to offer prayers for the film’s journey ahead.
Sanjay Mishra, who has been appointed as a mascot by the UP Police, named Cyber Baba, to raise awareness about cyber frauds and crimes at the Kumbh, led the team in seeking blessings. This divine experience has infused the entire production with inspiration and energy, setting a spiritual and powerful tone for the film's creation. Vadh 2 is currently being filmed across various locations, including Bhopal, Mumbai, and Manali.
The title Vadh itself carries a deep meaning rooted in Hindu mythology, where gods vanquish demons, symbolising the righteous end of evil (Vadh) as opposed to senseless killing (Hatya). The spiritual essence of the title perfectly aligns with the thematic underpinnings of the film.
While talking to ANI, Neena Gupta described her Kumbh Mela a "unique experience" and expressed how it had been on her wish list for years, she said, "I have been wanting to come here for years... It was a unique experience... Finally, I took a dip today,"
"The atmosphere here is crazy. I have never seen a bigger gathering in my life... I am impressed by the government for organizing such a huge event," she added.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, an important spiritual gathering for Hindus, is taking place at the sacred meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers.
As of February 6, over 397.4 million devotees have participated in the sacred ritual of taking a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, according to data from the Uttar Pradesh Government Information Department.
