L2 Empuraan box office collection day 2

Mohanlal’s much-awaited action thriller L2: Empuraan has set the box office on fire, becoming the fastest Malayalam film to cross the 100-crore mark globally. In just two days since its release, the film has not only created history but also joined an elite club of Malayalam movies that have grossed over Rs 100 crores worldwide—becoming the 10th film to do so and the quickest yet.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan is the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster Lucifer. The film opened with a staggering Rs 67.5 crore gross on its first day and maintained strong momentum on day two, pushing the worldwide total past the Rs 100 crore mark. This phenomenal performance beats the previous record held by Aadujeevitham, which took nine days to achieve the same milestone.

The film has grossed around Rs 40 crores at the domestic box office and over Rs 60 crores from international markets, becoming the first Malayalam release of 2025 to hit the century mark in just two days.

With the Eid holiday weekend approaching, industry analysts predict the film will soon rise to become the fifth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time by Saturday. By Sunday, it could climb to the number two position. If the current trend continues, Empuraan is expected to surpass the lifetime worldwide total of Manjummel Boys(Rs 241 crores) within its first week, making it the biggest Mollywood grosser ever.
