BTS is back in the Grammy race, but this time as individuals rather than as a group, after years of coming close but never quite grabbing the golden gramophone.
Fans are excited to know that members Jin, J-Hope, and RM have formally submitted their solo projects for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards, even though the band is still on hiatus due to military enlistment.
For their worldwide hits Dynamite, Butter, and the Coldplay collaboration Music of the Spheres, BTS received five Grammy nominations between 2021 and 2023.
However, the group's Grammy victory has remained painfully out of reach despite shattering records and redefining pop culture. Now that three members are waging independent campaigns, ARMYs are once more supporting them in their quest for the long-awaited victory.
According to reports, Jin has entered his debut solo album Echo in the Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album categories. His moving single Don’t Say You Love Me — a soulful track that tugs at the heartstrings — has been submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.
J-Hope, who is renowned for his unending enthusiasm and optimism, has entered the ring by submitting several times. His electrifying anthem Killin’ It Girl is being considered for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
His tracks Mona Lisa and Sweet Dreams have also been submitted, with the former up for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Global Music Performance, and the latter competing for Song and Record of the Year.
RM, BTS’s leader and lyricist, is said to have submitted his introspective solo album as well, though specific categories haven’t been disclosed.
For ARMY, this moment feels both emotional and hopeful. Over the years, fans have accused the Recording Academy of “using BTS for viewership” without awarding them the recognition they deserve. Still, optimism runs high. As one fan wrote online, “Even if they stand alone, they shine together.”
The official nominations for the 2026 Grammys will be announced later this year.
