Actress Kelley Mack, best known for her work in The Walking Dead and Chicago Med, passed away at the age of 33 on August 22.
Her sister Kathryn confirmed her demise with an Instagram post on August 5, Tuesday.
Kelley tragically passed away at the age of 33 after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. In September 2024, she had revealed her diagnosis of central nervous system glioma, which is a fast-progressing cancer that develops in the brain or spinal cord and is notoriously difficult to treat.
Despite undergoing intensive treatment in her fight against the illness, Kelley passed away peacefully on August 2. She was surrounded by loved ones, with her mother Kristen and aunt Karen at her side during her final moments in Cincinnati.
Her sister shared a picture of her alongside an emotional long note that read, "It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go."
"Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express," it continued.
Her post further read, "Kelley’s Caringbridge link in her bio includes the 2-page formal announcement with information on her upcoming life celebration in Ohio on August 16th. She would want you all to know how much she loves you. And as her sister, I want you all to know how brave that tough SOB was, especially when she decided to make the leap to be reunited with God. I’m so fucking proud of her."
On August 16, Kelley's home state of Ohio will host a memorial service.
Kelley was best known for her role as Addy in five episodes of The Walking Dead during its ninth season (2018–2019), a performance that earned her recognition among fans of the series.

She also received recognition for her diverse skill by making noteworthy cameos on shows like 9-1-1, Chicago, and the Modern Family spinoff. She played Mr. Manhattan in Broadcast Signal Intrusion, costarring with Harry Shum Jr. on the big screen.
At the time of her passing, Kelley was also serving as an executive producer and lead actress in Universal, an upcoming film written and produced by Stephen Portland.
