In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, M S V S Sai Prudhvi from Hyderabad, Telangana, took his place on the hot seat. A graduate from IIT Roorkee and currently pursuing an MBA from IIM Bengaluru, Prudhvi showcased both his academic excellence and inspiring life journey during the game.
Sharing his background, Prudhvi revealed, “My mother pushed me from the 8th standard towards brighter academics. I was doing a job after IIT, but I wanted to up my skills for the market, so I pursued an MBA.”
His first question for Rs 1,000 was: Which of these food items is generally in a liquid form? The options were A. Idli, B. Dosa, C. Medu Vada, and D. Rasam. He correctly answered option D.
Host Amitabh Bachchan acknowledged the difficulty of getting into IIT and IIM and asked him about his motivation.
Prudhvi emotionally shared, “After my father passed away, my mother took charge of everything. She ensured I had a good education, and it is my duty to do justice to her struggles. My mother’s cousins helped fund my IIT education, which we repaid once I got a job.” Big B called him an ‘ideal son’ and wished him well.

Talking about his early struggles, Prudhvi revealed, “When I was in 6th standard, we struggled to afford my school fees. An IAS officer helped me get a 50% concession till 10th standard. Since then, I have valued education the most.” Big B applauded him for his dedication.
For the Rs 1,60,000 question, he used the audience poll lifeline: What are Bela and Ajrakh types of? He correctly answered C. Textile prints.
He used Dugnaastra for the Rs 3,20,000 question: Which of the following industrialists has been honoured with the Padma Vibhushan? He correctly answered A. Isamu Suzuki, winning an additional Rs 3,20,000.
Prudhvi expressed his wish to buy a house for his mother in the future. In the Super Sandook round, he won Rs 40,000, which was added to his winnings.
Apart from his academic journey, Prudhvi also shared his passion for nukkad natak, stand-up comedy, and rap. At Big B's request, he performed Apna Time Ayega from Gully Boy, resonating with his life journey. Impressed, Big B responded, “Aapka time agaya hai.”
For the Rs 25 lakh question, he used the Video Call a Friend lifeline: Henry Piddington, who studied weather in Kolkata, is credited with coining which of these terms? He correctly answered D. Cyclone.
For Rs 50 lakh, his question was: Who was the first Indian to be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of London? Unsure, he chose to quit. He guessed A. Srinivasa Ramanujan, but the correct answer was C. Ardaseer Cursetjee Wadia.
Prudhvi walked away with an impressive total of Rs 28,60,000, leaving a lasting impression with his knowledge and inspiring story.
