Punjabi music star Karan Aujla has etched his name in history as the second Indian artist, after noted singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, to appear on Jimmy Fallon's 'Tonight Show'.
The Canada-based Punjabi singer-songwriter, known for his global hit tracks like 'Tauba Tauba' 'Chunni Meri Rang De Lalariya' , brought desi swag to the American show.
For his TV appearance, Karan Aujla kept it classy and rooted, wearing a black kurta-pyjama paired with a Modi jacket.
The look spoke deeply of his Punjabi culture while blending seamlessly into a modern, global platform.
Karan Aujla turned Bhangra teacher for Jimmy Fallon and taught him some simple moves. Jimmy was shy at first but then being a true sport, he matched some steps with our Punjabi munda in the house. The two grooved to Karan Aujla’s track “Gabru”, with Fallon gamely following along.
In the video, one can see Jimmy Fallon greeting Karan Aujla with excitement. He then says: “I can’t believe this. How are you?” To which Karan replied, “Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. Good to see you.”
Jimmy Fallon thanked Karan for being on the show, to this the singer replied: “You’re looking good.” Fallon said: “Look at you, you look fantastic. I wish I looked like this.”
Fallon ended the segment with, “Let’s go, man—that’s what I’m talking about!”—sealing the moment in show history.
Fans flooded social media praising his outfit, calling it a proud moment for South Asian fashion and culture on international TV.
The post was shared on social media with a caption: "@karanaujla teaches Jimmy some bhangra! #KaranOnFallon #FallonTonight”."
Karan Aujla being on Tonight Show is more than just a simple TV show, it talks about how Punjabi music is making a mark across the world.
And after Diljit Dosanjh’s debut last year, Karan Aujla’s appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show has cemented Punjabi music's global reach further.
Talking about Karan Aujla, he rose to fame for penning lyrics for big Punjabi names such as Jassi Gill, Gippy Grewal, and Jazzy B before turning a singer himself.
Born in Ghurala, Punjab, Karan later moved to Canada at the tender age of 9, following the tragic demise of his parents.
His tracks like “Property of Punjab” and “Don’t Worry”, made him a youth favourite.
He blended Punjabi folk with hip-hop and rap and made a name for himself globally.
Hits like “Hint”, “Chitta Kurta”, and “Mexico” followed, have further made him as one of the most influential Punjabi artists today. His recent song 'Tauba Tauba' featuring Vicky Kaushal also became a global success.
