Kapil Sharma’s newly opened venture, Kap’s Café, located in Surrey, British Columbia, was rocked by a disturbing incident when shots were fired at the building on July 9.
Fans were shocked and alarmed by the disturbing news, particularly after the comedian shared his feelings about the incident on social media.
Ginni Chatrath, Kapil's wife, reshared an Instagram Story from the official Kap's Café page, reassuring fans and well-wishers that the café has reopened. However, the cafe will only take orders exclusively on Uber Eats and is not ready for dine in yet after the incident.
The post read, "Kaps Cafe is currently open for delivery only Order exclusively on Uber eats Ubereats.com Opening soon for dine-in. Stay tuned. Thank you for your continued support."
According to Canadian media, an unidentified person fired at least nine rounds into the building from a moving car before escaping the scene.
Unsettling video shows the gunman firing repeatedly before quickly fleeing. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any reported injuries.
Last week Kapil's team shared an official statement regarding the incident on social media. The post read, “A message from the heart. We opened Kap’s Café with hope of bringing warmth, community and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing the shock but we are not giving up.”

Only a few days after Kap's Café's grand opening earlier this week, there was a firing incident. The café in Surrey had about ten bullet holes in its windows.
The shooting occurred at approximately 1:50 am local time, according to Surrey Police. Several gunshots were fired outside the premises, and some staff members were reportedly inside the restaurant when the attack happened.
