The oddball song "Pehla Tu Duja Tu," which was recently released by the producers of Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, has gone viral on social media.
Ajay and Mrunal are seen in the video synchronising a playful finger-pointing dance move, which amused fans and sparked a flurry of amusing memes on the internet.
Actress Kajol, Ajay's wife, couldn't help but share her reaction amid all the commotion, which was filled with jokes and laughter.
Kajol was seen thoroughly amused by Ajay’s now-famous finger dance in a video shared on Instagram.
With a twinkle in her eye, she jokingly declared, “Ajay Devgn has really redefined dancing in Bollywood. He’s probably the only star who can put on a show using just his fingers!” She reminisced about the days when actors used to move their entire bodies in sync with the music.
“Back in the day, actors used to walk and dance to the beat, and the music was created around their steps. Now, Ajay has taken it to the next level – all with just finger movements. One, two, three, four!” she added, poking fun at her husband while calling him one of the “smartest dancers” in the industry for his minimal yet effective style.
The song, which was written and composed by Jaani and sung by Vishal Mishra, was released just a few days ago and immediately attracted the interest of both fans and celebrities. Vishal Mishra himself expressed his joy at the fun surrounding the dance by replying to Kajol's reaction video with a heart emoji and a laughing emoji.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Ajay Devgn’s minimalist dance moves have gone viral. His finger-step from the song ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ in the 2014 film Action Jackson recently resurfaced on social media as a meme sensation.
Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Ajay revealed that he had asked director and choreographer Prabhudeva to keep the dance simple, admitting, “I’m not a dancer. So when it was time to shoot the songs, I told Prabhudeva, ‘You’re the choreographer, I’m not going to do complicated moves.’ That’s how he came up with the finger-step move for me.”
