‘Kaalidhar Laapata’ trailer promises a soulful journey through memory, loss, and second chances

ZEE5 has officially unveiled the trailer of its upcoming original film Kaalidhar Laapata, an emotional rollercoaster that promises to tug at heartstrings while offering moments of levity, reflection, and healing. Starring Abhishek Bachchan in a career-defining role, the film is a soulful narrative of second chances, unlikely bonds, and the courage it takes to start over when life falls apart.

Directed by Madhumita and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Emmay Entertainment, Kaalidhar Laapata also features Zeeshan Ayyub and child actor Daivik Bhagela in pivotal roles. Slated for release on ZEE5 on 4th July, the film follows the poignant journey of Kaalidhar—a middle-aged man suffering from memory loss and emotional abandonment. After overhearing his own siblings plotting to desert him at the Maha Kumbh Mela, Kaalidhar takes fate into his own hands and disappears. His path crosses with Ballu, an 8-year-old orphan with grit and street-smarts, setting the stage for a life-changing odyssey.

Far from being a conventional road film, Kaalidhar Laapata dives deep into themes of identity, dignity, and the invisible scars left by familial neglect. As Kaalidhar and Ballu journey through the vast, earthy landscapes of India’s heartland, they embark on a mission to complete an old, forgotten bucket list—uncovering moments of wonder, laughter, and raw vulnerability along the way.

Speaking about the film, Abhishek Bachchan shared, “Kaalidhar’s story touched me at a very personal level. His relationship with Ballu reminded me that sometimes, life gifts us clarity through the eyes of someone far younger and braver. This role helped me rediscover my own vulnerabilities and values.”
