Jackky Bhagnani and Rakul Preet Singh’s love story is a beautiful blend of friendship, patience, and deep respect. The couple, who tied the knot in February 2024 after almost five years of dating, recently opened up about their journey together in an interview with Curly Tales. While fans admired their chemistry for years, what many didn’t know was the reason behind Jackky’s long delay in proposing to Rakul. In a candid and heartfelt conversation, the couple shared unheard stories of their bond that began with friendship and gradually blossomed into love.
When asked about how he managed to impress the talented actress, Jackky said, “we became best friends first. Humara fundamental same hai. Family is most important for us.
Fitness and health are very important. We both are happy individually. Initially, we became best friends and eventually, we started hanging together every day.”
Their shared values and interests laid the foundation of a strong connection. But while the friendship was strong, Rakul was quietly wondering why Jackky hadn’t made a romantic move yet. “He would come with his friends, or I would go with my friends. After five months, I thought, Why is this guy not making a move?” she laughed.
For Rakul, the anticipation was real—but for Jackky, it was a conscious and respectful decision. “I didn't do it because I have the utmost respect and regard for Rakul,” he explained. “I was like, I will not propose to her until I am a hundred per cent sure to marry her. I didn't want to lose her as a friend on a fling. And the day I felt that, I made a move.”

This mature and thoughtful approach reflects the depth of Jackky’s feelings. He didn't want their relationship to be just another fleeting romance. Instead, he waited until he was certain she was “the one.”
Rakul shared a funny anecdote about the beginning of their romantic journey. “After the third lockdown, we moved to Goa for two months. My brother and his cousins, we were living in a villa. After coming back, I told my friends to make Jackky confess his feelings for me,” she recalled with a laugh. “After five months, we started dating. I didn't confess my feelings, as I am very fattu (scared). I was not in that position. He told his sister that I am his girlfriend. That's when I got to know that we are dating.”
“Home is where your family and loved ones are. Evening time post 9 pm, we look forward to coming back and hanging together,” said Rakul.
Jackky added with a smile, “I have heard some horrendous stories before my wedding. It was like 'My life will be destroyed after marriage'. I don't feel any difference. I always feel let's go back quickly, so that we can chill and chat at home. We don't feel claustrophobic. We share that comfort zone with each other. In my case, there is no past (laugh).”
In a lighthearted moment, Jackky also explained why their production company is called Pooja Entertainment. “Pooja is my mother's name and my father (Vashu Bhagnani) believes that everything he has achieved in life is because of my mother's luck. She is the boss lady,” he shared proudly.
