Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is reportedly being considered for the iconic role of Kaleen Bhaiya in a film adaptation of the hit web series Mirzapur.
According to rumors, a movie based on the popular Amazon Prime Video series is in development, and Hrithik is in talks to replace Pankaj Tripathi as the formidable character on the big screen.
The show’s director, Gurmeet Singh, addressed the speculation in a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar. While he neither confirmed nor denied the possibility, he hinted that something exciting is in the works.
“There hasn’t been any official announcement yet. The producers and studio are involved in this decision, and they will provide the official statement. Only then can everything become clearer. So, at this moment, I can’t give you a definite yes or no,” he explained.
When asked about Hrithik’s involvement, he added, “As for Hrithik, the same response applies — until the higher authorities say something, I can’t reveal anything,”
Mirzapur is an Amazon Prime Video original series produced by Excel Media and Entertainment, with Pankaj Tripathi’s portrayal of Kaleen Bhaiya being a fan-favorite since the show’s inception.
If the film adaptation goes through with Hrithik in the lead, it could mark a significant shift in how the character is perceived on the big screen.
However, the possibility of Hrithik taking on the role has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Many fans of the series are skeptical about someone else stepping into Pankaj Tripathi’s shoes.
