Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan are reuniting once again for the next Jumanji film, and this time, the cast is getting even bigger.
Columbia Pictures announced on Friday that Nick Jonas, Danny DeVito, Lamorne Morris, Bebe Neuwirth, Marin Hinkle and Rhys Darby will all return for the new instalment, with production officially underway in Los Angeles.
The team is also welcoming fresh faces, including Dan Hildebrand of Game of Thrones fame and Jack Jewkes from Criminal Minds. Jonas steps back into his role as Seaplane McDonough, the skilled pilot inside the video game world, while Darby returns as Nigel Billingsley, the ever-cheerful guide who leads players through their missions.
DeVito reprises his role as Eddie, the grandfather of Spencer, whose in-game avatar is played by Johnson. Hinkle once again appears as Spencer’s mother.
The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan, with a screenplay by Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Like its predecessors, the movie is inspired by Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 picture book, which also formed the foundation of Sony’s beloved 1995 film starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst.

The yet-untitled third chapter of this reboot series is set for release on December 11, 2026. It follows the blockbuster success of the previous two films — Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), which earned nearly $800 million worldwide, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), which crossed $950 million globally.
The original 1995 film itself was a major hit, collecting over $260 million worldwide and becoming a cherished classic for generations.
