Announcing the cast members, HBO Max penned in the caption of the Instagram post, "The Burrow is nearly full. Joining our very own Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, we warmly welcome Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley to the HBO Original Series Harry Potter. (Charlie’s in Romania at the moment but will be joining us soon enough...)."
Meanwhile, it was previously announced that Dominic McLaughlin will play the role of Harry Potter, while Arabella Stanton is set to play Hermione Granger. Katherine Parkinson takes the chilling role of Molly Weasley, but Arthur and the eldest son, Charlie, have yet to be cast.

Outside the Burrow, HBO has loaded up the show with big-name talent. Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape, John Lithgow is assuming the role of Dumbledore, Janet McTeer will play Professor McGonagall, and Nick Frost will add his own twist to Hagrid. With that talent roster, the bar is already set very high.

The series is being written and executive-produced by Francesca Gardiner. Succession's Mark Mylod is set to direct several episodes as well as act as executive producer.
