Early life
Actress Roshni Walia was born on September 20, 2001 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Her parents got divorced, and her mother, Sweety Walia, raised Roshni and her older sister, Noor, alone in Mumbai.
Family life
Her family moved to Mumbai against all odds. Roshni has publicly praised her mother for her resilience, noting that her mother moved to Mumbai with two children despite facing skepticism from others.
Career
Roshni earned her first paycheck at age seven. Roshni's career began when she was just a child, and her first salary was Rs 7,000 for acting in a commercial.
Audition
Her acting journey began with a family vacation. She gave her first audition while on a family trip to an agency called Masti. She nailed her audition despite feeling intimidated by the other experienced child actors there.
TV and movie debut
Roshni made her television debut in 2012 with Life OK series Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki. She played the role of Jiyana. In the same year, she appeared in the film My Friend Ganesha 4 as Lucky. She later rose to fame with Balika Vadhu as Ganga.

Recalling her time on the set of Maharana Pratap, Roshni described a disciplined atmosphere where she and other child actors sometimes fainted due to work pressure. She has since reflected that this experience prepared her for the industry's realities.

She considers the set of Maharana Pratap her school. She learned much from her time portraying young Maharani Ajabde Punwar in the show and also mentioned in her earlier interview with the Times of India that the serial’s set was her school, where the producer was her principal and the director was her teacher.

She was nominated for a major television award as a child. Her role in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap earned her a nomination for Best Child Actor (Female) at a popular award function.
